Handling of general cargo
We handle breakbulk cargo up to 60 tonnes – everything from machinery, steel components and building elements to transformers and wind turbine components.
Why Thyborøn Stevedore
Thyborøn Stevedore has many years of experience handling everything from propeller shafts to heavy machinery components. In Thyborøn in particular, we have large forklift trucks, cranes with capacity of up to 120 tonne-metres, and platform trailers for transport within the port area.
In cooperation with other port operators, we have handled components weighing up to 400 tonnes.

Handling of special cargo and project cargo
Weather data is continuously collected from the areas of the North Sea designated for future wind farms. For this purpose, large, complex buoys are being developed, equipped with sensors that can measure everything from temperature to wave height.
Thyborøn Stevedore has extensive experience receiving and handling these often sensitive buoys.
Secure logistics for large transformer units
Energinet is currently constructing several transformer stations along the west coast of Jutland. The stations must be ready to receive large amounts of electrical energy from the offshore wind farms of the future in the North Sea.
In several cases, we in Thyborøn have received vessels transporting large transformer units. These are units weighing up to 160 tonnes, which are lifted from the vessel with the utmost care and placed directly onto a platform trailer.
Along with the transformers, a number of crates arrive containing components and spare parts, which we often store and dispatch in line with the customer’s needs.
